Employee Awarded Compensation After Being Forced To Sign Non Disclosure Agreement

Twitter ordered to pay former employee €470,000

Employee awarded compensation after being forced to sign non-disclosure agreement

Tribunal finds Twitter ‘failed in its duty’ to employee

Twitter has been ordered to pay €470,000 to a former employee after the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found that the company had 'failed in its duty' to the employee.

The employee, who worked for Twitter's Irish unit, was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) after raising concerns about the company's culture. The employee was subsequently fired and took their case to the WRC.

The WRC found that Twitter had breached its duty of care to the employee and that the NDA was unenforceable. The commission also ordered Twitter to pay the employee €470,000 in compensation.

This is the latest in a series of setbacks for Twitter since Elon Musk took over the company in October. Musk has been criticized for his management style and for making a number of controversial decisions, including firing half of Twitter's workforce.
