NBA Star Takes on Movies in Hustle
The new basketball movie Hustle, produced by Adam Sandler and LeBron James, debuted on Netflix Wednesday. The film also stars Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, Robert Duvall, Heidi Gardner, and current National Basketball Association player Anthony Edwards.
In a recent interview, Hustle director Jeremiah Zagar revealed that it was Adam Sandler who suggested casting Anthony Edwards. Zagar said he was immediately impressed with Edwards' "natural charisma and basketball skills".
Edwards, who plays himself in the movie, said he was honored to be a part of Hustle. "I've always wanted to act," he said. "This was a dream come true."
In Hustle, Edwards plays a young street ball player who is discovered by a down-on-his-luck basketball scout (Sandler). The scout takes Edwards under his wing and helps him to develop his skills. Together, they face a number of challenges on their way to the NBA.
