B.C. general election set for Oct. 19, 2024
Voters to elect members of the Legislative Assembly
NDP held or picked up battleground ridings in the 2020 election
The 2024 British Columbia general election will be held on or before October 19 2024 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly to serve in the 43rd Parliament of British Columbia. The election will be the first since the 2020 election, in which the New Democratic Party (NDP) won a majority government, led by Premier John Horgan.
The NDP held or picked up battleground ridings in the 2020 election, including in the Fraser Valley, the Okanagan, and the Kootenays. The party's victory was seen as a sign of growing support for the NDP in rural and suburban areas of the province.
