Veteran pitcher set to return after two-month absence

The Chicago Cubs have activated right-handed pitcher Kyle Hendricks from the injured list, the team announced today. Hendricks has been sidelined for the past two months with a shoulder injury.

The 33-year-old Hendricks is a veteran of 10 seasons with the Cubs and has been a key member of the team’s rotation for much of that time. He is a two-time All-Star and has finished in the top 10 of the National League Cy Young Award voting twice.
